"Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde," the 1992 debut of the four member group from Humboldt County is one of the groundbreaking underground hip-hop albums to date.  Passin' Me By is the most notable single off this album and probably the group's most popular song. 

It's worth noting that Kanye West says this is his favorite album of all time. OF ALL TIME.  Their sophomore album, Labcabincalifornia, is in my Top 5. I wish they made more than two albums at full strength, but one member was kicked out for cocaine abuse and the other left to do his solo thing. So it goes.

The Homie H Brooks put me on Phil Ade about a month ago.  This up-and-coming DMV MC has a good flow and solid production backing. We'll see how his first album ends up comparing to Wale's - if they should be compared at all.

This guy from Leimert Park in LA has the classic West Coast-Ice Cube vibe.  Really feeling everything he's put out in the past couple years.  This song gives of a summer feel since it ain't gonna be warm in the 216 for a minute.
